Ducorps Cockatoo
-
An all white cockatoo with a touch of peach undertones on the
head and yellow under its tail and wings. The Ducorps Cockatoo is from the New Zealand area. Ducorps are one
of the more docile birds in the Cockatoo family. They are very
loving and usually get along with everyone in the family...

The picture above is a one day old baby. Sibling Ducorps - the
smaller, with unfurled feathers, is older than the one on the right by 2
days. The one on the right has been cared for by the parent Ducorps,
where as the smaller appearing one has been hand fed by humans since day
two. The parent groomed and cared for the chick for two to three weeks,
and appears more advanced, even though both are healthy babies. Just the
unfurled feathers alone will make the baby appear larger. I could write
a page on the differences of these two in this picture alone. No
question to mother natures natural parent rearing abilities. -Janis
